December 12th, 2008 by Stephen Keable · No Comments

You may recognise the series of Alien Workshop boards above, well they were designed by Push Me Pull You which is run by Philidelphia based illustrator and designer Eleanor Grosch. She is the latest designer to get an interview over on Grain Edit go check out her website and the interview too.

I mention this as a sort of teaser for an upcoming interview with Beccles based illustrator Joel Benjamin, which will be pretty similar to the inteviews featured on Grain Edit.

Greg Lutzka is More Than Bangin

December 11th, 2008 by Stephen Keable · No Comments

If you haven’t already checked out The Berrics website recently, then you should do just for slightly insane stuff Greg Lutzka does in the latest Bangin. Also check out the Tony Hawk Text Yourself one, would love to see what the Hawk has thrown down at The Berrics.

Frank Turner – Photos

December 8th, 2008 by Stephen Keable · No Comments

Frank Turner dropped by the UEA on Sunday night on his own, to play the crowd a few of his brilliantly crafted songs before The Levellers came on stage. Even though the couple of friends I was with preferred his gigs with his band to back him up, I really liked the stripped down set with Frank, his guitar and his new stomp box toy. The crowd of hippy Levellers fans were tapping and nodding along enjoying Frank’s tunes, whilst a few hardcore fans stood near the front singing every word back at Frank. I’ve only seen Frank in short support slots so far and my appetite has been happily wet each time, but still hoping he’s back in 2009 headlining a gig in Norwich again.

For more photos visit my Frank Turner flickr set.

Listen to Frank Turner on iTunes.

From The Jam – UEA – 5th December

December 7th, 2008 by Stephen Keable · 2 Comments

Well From The Jam were nothing short of brilliant on Friday night! Stomping out all the great hits that the slightly ageing audience wanted to hear, whilst decked out in they’re uniform of Lambretta and Fred Perry clothing. It’s nice to see that Rick and Bruce are still holding the torch that Paul Weller choose to leave behind 26 years ago and still bouncing around stage like they were the young band they once were.
